The cost benefit analysis of “fitting in” is worth exploring.

Benefit

  • No one will make fun of you behind your back (acceptance)

  • It’s the path of least resistance (easier)

  • Less risk

  • Others will feel comfortable

Cost

  • You and your creation will be average

  • Having little or no impact

  • Your ideas remain small

  • You’ll make less money

It turns out that proclaiming your rarity is worth the risk.
